What Is a Non-Surgical Jawline Contouring Procedure?

A non-surgical jawline contouring procedure is any treatment used to enhance the shape of your chin and jaw. This highly individualized cosmetic procedure is tailored to meet each patient’s needs. It may involve the use of dermal fillers to add volume, Botox to reduce jaw volume, Ultherapy to tighten sagging skin, or CoolSculpting or Kybella to melt away excess fat.

Am I an Ideal Candidate for Non-Surgical Jawline Contouring?

If you want to tighten sagging skin and get rid of excess fat on your chin and jawline, you are a good candidate for a non-surgical jawline contouring procedure. If you want a stronger jaw but are not yet ready to commit to surgery, then this treatment is recommended for you.

Undergoing this treatment requires that you have good skin elasticity and are at a healthy weight. If you are a smoker or have underlying medical conditions, this cosmetic enhancement procedure may not be right for you.

Your Consultation

During your consultation with your doctor at My Plastic Surgery Group, you will be examined to determine your facial structure and skin elasticity. Your medical history will be discussed, including any existing medical conditions and any medications you are taking. You will be asked about your expected outcome so that your doctor can choose the best approach for your goals.

The Procedure

The details of the procedure vary depending on the chosen treatment methods. Jaw contouring using Botox or fillers takes very little time and involves delivery of a small number of injections. Botox temporarily paralyzes overworked masseter muscles, allowing them to shrink. Fillers add volume to hollow regions in the jawline.

For eliminating pockets of fat in the region below the chin (the submental area), CoolSculpting, Kybella, and Ultherapy may be employed. Kybella is an injectable prescription medicine that destroys the cell membranes of fat cells. It is used specifically to reduce the appearance of the double chin.

CoolSculpting is a cryolipolysis technique that freezes the fat cells to eliminate them. It uses a special device to cool the fat cells in the target areas. Ultherapy is an ultrasound technique used to tighten loose skin and melt fat cells, helping patients achieve a stronger jawline. Like CoolSculpting, it is also administered using a special device on the target areas.

After Your Treatment Session

After non-surgical jawline contouring, patients can go back to their normal routines in a day or two with little to no downtime or recovery time needed. Minor bruising, redness, and swelling are common after injections and non-surgical treatments. These should disappear in a few hours or days. If you experience any bleeding, pain, or allergic reactions, contact your doctor.

How Much Does Non-Surgical Jawline Contouring Cost?

The cost of non-surgical jawline contouring varies from one patient to another, because it is tailored for each patient’s expected outcome. The total price will depend on the combination of treatments used to achieve your desired results.
