Experience the MPSG difference

CoolSculpting Elite

CoolSculpting in Carmel just got better! Introducing CoolSculpting Elite—an enhanced CoolSculpting treatment with a new innovative technology called Z-wave, which improves our patients’ CoolSculpting treatment results.

Following a CoolSculpting treatment, the standard protocol is to do a manual massage on the treated area. The massage technique has been proven to improve the results versus no massage at all. Now, we are going one step further and using the Z-wave after each CoolSculpting treatment. According to the studies, the use of a Z-wave treatment following a CoolSculpting treatment increases the efficacy of each treatment by up to 50%.

Personalized Breast Implant Surgery with Dr. John Aker and Dr. Di Beckman—Breast Implants Designed Around Your Shape, Proportions, and Goals

Whether you want to restore fullness or enhance your proportions, breast augmentation can be tailored to your desired outcome and unique anatomy. At My Plastic Surgery Group, Dr. John Aker and Dr. Di Beckman provide personalized breast augmentation for patients in Carmel, Indianapolis, and throughout Central Indiana.

From implant selection to surgical technique, your procedure is carefully planned around you. Options include our Hidden Scar Breast Augmentation technique, which avoids an incision on the breast, as well as the inframammary fold approach.

What Is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that uses implants to increase breast volume. It can enhance small breasts, replace volume lost after pregnancy or weight changes, improve breast proportions, and improve symmetry.

Because every patient is different, your surgeon will consider your breast and chest measurements, existing tissue, skin, lifestyle, and cosmetic goals when developing your treatment plan.

Who Is a Candidate for Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation candidates must be in good general health, have fully developed breasts, and have realistic expectations for the procedure’s outcome. Since pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect breast size and shape, patients often choose to wait until their family is complete to undergo this surgery to avoid compromising their results and a potential need for a revision procedure.

If breast sagging is a concern, implants alone may not provide the result you are looking for. In those cases, your surgeon may recommend a breast lift or discuss combining a lift with augmentation.

A consultation with one of our surgeons is the best way to find out if you are a candidate. In addition to learning about what you want to achieve, answering any questions you may have, and performing an examination, your surgeon will review your health history and medications to determine if breast augmentation is the right option for you.

Unique Approach

Why Choose MPSG for CoolSculpting?

My Plastic Surgery Group has served more than 30,000 surgical and nonsurgical patients since opening in 1997. That breadth of experience gives our Carmel aesthetic team a valuable perspective when helping Indianapolis-area patients decide whether CoolSculpting or another body-contouring option is best suited to their concerns. Each CoolSculpting plan is customized according to the patient’s anatomy, treatment areas, and goals, with Z-Wave technology incorporated after treatment to support the body-contouring process. Because we offer both plastic surgery and nonsurgical aesthetic treatments, our recommendations are based on the type of correction a patient needs, not on a single treatment option.

Questions & Answers with Dr. Aker

The Specifics

CoolSculpting Details

CoolSculpting Consultation

It is important to come in for a consultation prior to your CoolSculpting treatment. This will allow you to express your concerns and goals. You will need to let us know about your complete medical history, including any pre-existing conditions, allergies, past treatments, and current medications. A physical examination will also be performed.

The next part of the consultation will involve a discussion of your recommended treatment plan. The treatment plan will be based on the size, location, and number of treatment areas, along with your desired results.

We will explain any recommended preparation steps, the details of the treatment session, aftercare, and cost. Any questions you may have will be answered during your consultation.

Good CoolSculpting Candidates

The CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure is specially designed for those who have unwanted fat that resists diet and exercise. Candidates must have realistic goals. Unlike gastric bypass surgery, the CoolSculpting procedure is not a weight loss solution for people who are obese. It is, however, a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Good candidates have noticeable bulges in certain areas they’d like to get rid of. Candidates must not have certain pre-existing health conditions that could affect the safety of the treatment. Request a one-on-one consultation to determine if the CoolSculpting procedure is right for you.

Goals of CoolSculpting

The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure is FDA-cleared and contours the body by safely and effectively freezing away unwanted fat for good without surgery or downtime. CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.

After consulting with one of our certified CoolSculpting specialists to determine your personalized course of treatment, a gel pad will be applied to the area in which you want to reduce fat, followed by the CoolSculpting applicator. No anesthetic is required, so no shots are needed.

CoolSculpting Recovery and Results

The applicator will draw up the targeted tissue between its two cooling panels then the cooling begins. During your procedure, feel free to read, check your email, or even take a nap.

Each CoolSculpting treatment requires about 1 hour per area. Therefore, if you want to treat the hip-waist area on both the right and the left, your treatment session would require about 2 hours. You can freeze fat off on multiple areas of your body with the CoolSculpting procedure, and additional sessions may further enhance your results. Your CoolSculpting specialist will help you create an individualized treatment plan tailored just for you.
The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure is completely non-surgical, so you can typically return to normal activities immediately.

In the weeks and months to follow, your body naturally processes and eliminates the treated fat cells. Once the fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good.

Breast Augmentation FAQs

How much does breast augmentation cost in Indianapolis?

The price of breast enhancement in the Indianapolis area varies based on the specifics of the procedure. When determining total breast augmentation cost, we factor in the cost of the implants, the specific techniques utilized, the total time required to complete the procedure, and many other aspects of the surgery. A detailed cost estimate will be provided during your consultation once your surgical plan has been created.

Financing is available through Cherry, CareCredit, and PatientFi for qualified patients.

What is “rippling”?

It is common to feel a slight “crinkly” sensation along the breast fold where the implant comes closest to the surface. In very slender women, there may be visible wrinkling on the skin surface. It is more commonly observed with saline than with silicone gel implants and can occur in different areas of the breast.

Is over-the-muscle or under-the-muscle breast implant placement better?

The breast implant pocket can be either directly behind the breast tissue or behind the pectoral muscle which is behind the breast tissue. Dr. Aker prefers to place the implant behind the pectoral muscle to give the upper breast a more natural slope and graceful appearance.

Will breast augmentation improve sagging breasts?

While limited breast sagging is frequently corrected by breast augmentation, a breast lift may be required for greater degrees of drooping.

What are the most common complications after breast augmentation?

A common short-term issue is temporary changes in nipple sensation. A temporary tight sensation in the armpit may also occur when the endoscopic technique is performed.

Breast implants are not considered lifetime devices and may need to be replaced after 10 to 15 years. Regular follow-up with your surgeon can help monitor your implants and address any issues if they occur.

How do I choose the right breast implant size?

Choosing the right implant size depends on your body proportions and desired outcome. We guide you through the process to ensure a natural, balanced result.

What is the difference between silicone and saline implants?

Silicone implants are filled with a cohesive silicone gel, while saline implants are filled with sterile salt water. We help you select the option that best fits your goals and anatomy during your consultation.

Is it possible to combine breast augmentation with other procedures?

Absolutely. Breast augmentation surgery is frequently combined with tummy tuck surgery or breast lift surgery for a “mommy makeover” to address pregnancy-related changes in breast and body contours.

Do saline implants last longer than gel implants?

The failure rate over time is about the same.

Could I lose nipple sensation after my breast augmentation?

It is very unlikely to permanently lose sensation. It is common to have temporary increased or decreased sensation.

If I gain weight, will my implants look different?

This varies from woman to woman. Some women experience significant changes in breast size with weight fluctuations, while others notice very little change.

I’ve heard my implants might “settle”. What does that mean?

Shortly after surgery, the implants tend to “ride high” due to spasm of the muscle. Over the weeks following surgery, the muscle and breast tissue relax, allowing the implant to descend into a more natural position. This process is called “settling”.

How soon will I be able to return to work?

For less physical job requirements, patients can usually return to work after 3–5 days, while those with more physically demanding jobs may need 5–7 days.

Will my breast implants interfere with a mammogram?

Women with breast implants can continue to have routine mammograms. Because implants can make some breast tissue more difficult to see, additional views or special imaging techniques may be used to obtain a thorough examination. Be sure to let the mammography facility know that you have breast implants when scheduling your appointment so they can plan accordingly.

Will my scars be noticeable after my surgery?

If the endoscopic technique is used, there will be no scar on the breast at all. With the inframammary approach, there will be visible scars in the crease under the breast, though they fade significantly over time.

Can I breastfeed after I have breast augmentation surgery?

Many women are able to breastfeed after breast augmentation. However, it is not possible to predict with certainty how breastfeeding will be affected. Your surgeon can discuss this with you in more detail based on your procedure and future plans for pregnancy and breastfeeding.
