For most people, chemical peels can effectively treat acne, actinic keratosis, dark spots, uneven skin tone, rough texture, fine lines, wrinkles, freckles, sun damage, and mild scarring. However, they may not be recommended for those with sensitive skin, a history of abnormal scarring, or scars with excess pigmentation.

What happens during a chemical peel?

Chemical peel procedures usually last between 30 and 90 minutes. The patient’s hair and eyes will be protected. An agent intended to remove excess oils in the skin will be used. After that, the peel will be carefully applied to the patient’s skin, where it will permeate the skin layers to the intended depth.

What do I need to do after a chemical peel?

The recovery period depends on which chemical peel you received. One of the most important things to remember is to stay out of the sun until your skin has healed. Moisturizing as recommended will be vital. Be sure to follow our post-treatment instructions as closely as possible.
